An as-built survey shows the state of a development during or at the end of construction. It gives a detailed description of the site services and records the 3D locations of infrastructure and structures.

Generally, Councils require these surveys for the integration of new services into their GIS (Graphical Information System), while developers consider them as valuable project management aids.
